Scientists discuss in 'Role of apolipoprotein E in febrile convulsion' new findings in life sciences. "Apolipoprotein E is consistently associated with the progression of some common human neurodegenerative diseases, e.g., epilepsy. We hypothesized that genetic variations in the apolipoprotein E gene have implications for susceptibility to, and prognoses in, febrile convulsion, which plays an apparent role in the development of epilepsy," scientists in Izmir, Turkey report.
