According to recent research from the United States, "Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an important biomaterial with functional medical and cosmetic applications. As its synthesis has been recently reported in recombinant bacteria, it is of interest to develop a high throughput screening method for the rapid isolation of HA accumulating strains transformed by combinatorial libraries."
