Medical device firm reports 3% increase in revenues

Applied Biosystems Group (ABI), an Applera Corporation business, reported revenues of $455 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2005, a 3% increase over the prior year quarter.

Net revenues include favorable foreign currency effects of approximately 2%, compared to the prior year quarter. Net income was $56 million, compared to $46 million for the prior year quarter. Earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter were $0.28, compared to $0.22 for the prior year quarter.

EPS for the quarter on a non-GAAP basis were $0.28, compared to $0.21 for the prior year quarter, excluding the specified items described below. The net effect of foreign currency on EPS...
