AARP members from across the state flocked to the Capitol today to advocate for passage of Rx Marketing Reform and Cell Phone Consumer Protection legislation in the New York State Senate during its special session. Both bills passed the Assembly in June with overwhelming bipartisan support, but the Senate has yet to take any action on either bill. The prescription drug industry and cell phone industry are pushing hard to defeat the bills in the Senate.
