Akorn Enters into a Manufacturing and Supply Agreement for the Contract Manufacture of an Ophthalmic Solution

Akorn, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKRX) announced the signing of a five-year contract manufacturing and supply agreement with a major U.S. pharmaceutical company. Under the terms of the five-year agreement, Akorn will be responsible for the manufacturing and supply of the ophthalmic drug product. This ophthalmic drug product will be manufactured at the Company's Somerset, NJ facility. Akorn is the ANDA holder and also expects to launch this drug product under the Akorn label in mid-2008.
