St Charles Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (www.stcharlespharma.com), a Louisiana-headquartered pharmaceutical company developing novel, more universally effective therapeutics for pain relief, announced that it has received funding for the first year of a 3-year $3.1 million special National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Grant. This substantial award, a Cooperative Small Business Phase II SBIR Grant for Translational Research, will fund the work necessary to bring the Company's lead analgesic compound, SCP-123, from the laboratory to the clinic, including the preparation of the Investigational New Drug (IND)...
