Cook Incorporated Wins Judgment In Patent Infringement Suit Filed By Edwards



April 4th, 2008

The United States District Court for the Northern District of California granted summary judgment in favor of Cook Incorporated rejecting claims filed by Edwards Lifesciences LLC alleging Cook had infringed on Edwards' patents for endovascular devices to treat aneurysms, Cook officials announced.

"This is a significant victory for Cook and a vindication of the validity of our extensive intellectual patent portfolio in the expanding field of endovascular treatment of aneurysms," said Cynthia Kretz, general counsel for Cook. The company was represented by the law firm of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione in the litigation.
