According to the latest U.S. Census report on health insurance,(1) young adults are by far the most likely age group to be uninsured. More than 8 million individuals (29 percent) between the ages of 18 and 24 fall into this category, as do nearly 11 million individuals (27 percent) between 25 and 34. Unfortunately, too often 'stuff happens' to people in this age group, and they face huge financial liabilities from unexpected health events like accidents, illnesses or diseases.
