CarFit: Helping Mature Drivers Find Their Perfect Fit

AAA Minnesota/Iowa and the West Des Moines Police Department will host a CarFit event on Aug. 6, at the West Des Moines Police Department. CarFit is a new safety program for senior drivers that checks how well the driver and their vehicle work together. Developed through collaboration of the American Society on Aging, AAA, AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association, CarFit uses trained professionals who lead senior drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicle, recommend vehicle adjustments and adaptations, and offer community-specific resources.
