Calvin B. Johnson, MD, MPH, has been appointed Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Temple University Health System (TUHS), effective October 15, 2008. Johnson has served as Secretary of Health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since being appointed to that position in April 2003 by Governor Ed Rendell.

As Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Johnson will be responsible for providing vision and leadership for the development and implementation of quality initiatives at all Health System hospitals and facilities -- including Temple University Hospital (TUH), Jeanes Hospital, Northeastern Hospital, TUH-Episcopal Campus, and all community-based physician...
