The following is a statement by Tig Gilliam, CEO of Adecco Group North America, on September's Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report which was released at 8:30 AM ET. "Today's report accelerated the trend that started in the beginning of 2008 with continued job losses. The nation's unemployment rate remained steady at 6.1% in September with job losses totaling 159,000 for the month. "September marks the ninth consecutive month of job losses for the U.S. economy, showing continued weakness across key sectors of the labor market including manufacturing, retail, construction and financial services.
