A. O. Smith Corporation (NYSE:AOS) announced third quarter earnings of $21.4 million or $0.70 per share on revenue of $602.7 million. Third quarter earnings per share were $0.70 compared with $0.79 per share in the third quarter of 2007. Third quarter 2007 earnings included a non-recurring tax benefit of $3.1 million or $0.10 per share.
