Agnico-Eagle reports third quarter 2008 results

Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited ("Agnico-Eagle" or the "Company") reported quarterly net income of $14.0 million, or $0.10 per share for the third quarter of 2008. This result includes a non-cash foreign currency translation gain of $18.5 million, or $0.13 per share, partly offset by a net loss on investments of $10.4 million, or $0.07 per share and non-cash stock option expense of $2.3 million, or $0.02 per share. In the third quarter of 2007, the Company reported net income of $11.5 million, or $0.08 per share.
