3rd Dimension Mobile Traffic Service, Houston TranStar and 39 Traffic Jam Cell Cams Aid in Hurricane Ike Evacuation

This past September, residents of Galveston, Houston and surrounding Texas communities looked down the barrel of approaching Hurricane Ike, and with frightening memories of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, fled to their cars to evacuate before disaster struck. Many were able to find the safest and quickest path to higher land -- courtesy of their cell phone!

The 39 Traffic Jam Cell Cams, a free mobile traffic service provided by KIAH-TV channel 39, Houston TranStar and 3rd Dimension, Inc., New York City, was one of the unsung heroes of the evacuation.
