1-800-GOT-JUNK? Holds Eight-State Truck Relay to Bring Laptops to Washington D.C. for Charity

At least a dozen 1-800-GOT-JUNK' franchise partners have collected more than 150 laptops and are currently 'relaying' them across states to bring them to a charity in Washington D.C. Project Red Dot refurbishes semi-new laptops and donates them to schools and orphanages in Africa.

Project Red Dot, a registered non-profit organization, is the brainchild of Washington D.C. 1-800-GOT-JUNK' franchise partners, Mark and Claudine Rubin. The idea is to use connections to get things done. So, the Rubins invited regional franchise partners to begin stockpiling laptops collected during junk removal jobs.
