AmerenCILCO Announces Refinancing

AmerenCILCO, a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation (NYSE:AEE), announced that it is offering $150 million of 8.875% senior secured notes due 2013. The transaction is expected to close on December 9, 2008. AmerenCILCO intends to use the net offering proceeds of approximately $148.8 million to repay a portion of outstanding short-term debt, including short-term debt incurred to fund the redemption of $19.2 million principal amount of auction rate environmental improvement revenue refunding bonds in April 2008 and the final mandatory sinking fund redemption payment in the amount of $16.5 million of 5.85% series preferred stock.
