President-Elect Obama Nominates a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager CHMM as Next EPA Administrator



January 2nd, 2009

President-elect Barack Obama has nominated Lisa P. Jackson, a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager(R) (CHMM(R)), for the top post at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Jackson most recently served as the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection where she managed a staff of 3,400 professionals and programs to protect, sustain and enhance the state's water, air and land resources.

As the EPA administrator nominee the U.S. Senate must confirm Jackson before she assumes the position in the Obama Administration.
