Aetna’s 2009 African-American History Calendar Celebrates Those Building Healthy African-American Communities

By targeting places where people congregate, such as churches, community centers and supermarkets, the organizations and people featured in the 2009 Aetna African-American History Calendar are spreading health and wellness messages to African-American communities across the country.

“Most people are intelligent. If you give them appropriate information about their health, they’ll make good decisions,” said Bishop Sherwood C. Carthen, chairman of stakeholders for the National African American Tobacco Education Network, one of 12 programs featured in the calendar.
