A new leader has been selected to head the North Western branch of the largest public employee union in Pennsylvania. At a board meeting on Friday, March 27, 2009, the Executive Board of District Council 85 of AFSCME, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, voted unanimously to appoint David Henderson to the position of Director effective April 1, 2009. Current Council Director, David Bielski, will retire May 31 after nearly 40 years of service to AFSCME.
