Albany Law School Ranked 12th Nationally for Percentage of Female Tenured Professors

Albany Law School is ranked among the top 12 doctoral universities with the largest share of female tenured professors, according to the March 2009 issue of the magazine Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. The list is based on a report by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) that considered more than 1,400 U.S. colleges and universities, including 221 doctoral-granting institutions.

With female tenured professors making up 38 percent of the faculty, Albany Law School significantly exceeds the national average of 26 percent at doctoral-granting institutions. The AAUP study found that women are being hired in higher numbers into positions that do not...
