Aging Advocate Named President of Maryland's Leading Long-Term Care Association

The Health Facilities Association of Maryland (HFAM) has appointed Joseph DeMattos, Jr., its President. DeMattos is known as a government relations and communications expert in the aging community. Previous to joining HFAM DeMattos was a leader at AARP, serving in key roles in Washington D.C., Texas, Hawai'i, and Maryland. DeMattos, most recently AARP Senior State Director in Maryland, is best known for his national leadership on Medicare and for his work successfully leading AARP's advocacy efforts on healthcare expansion in Maryland.
