National Institutes of Health’s National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases Initiates Study of Aeolus Pharmaceutical Drug as a Countermeasure for Radiation Exposure

Aeolus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: AOLS) announced that the National Institutes of Health's (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Radiation/Nuclear Medical Countermeasures development program has begun testing AEOL 10150 as a countermeasure for radiation exposure to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The first study, funded by the NIAID, is designed to test the efficacy of AEOL 10150 as a treatment for damage to the GI tract due to exposure to radiation. If effective, additional studies could be funded by NIH, NIAID to optimize dose and duration of delivery, and to evaluate the window of opportunity for treatment after exposure. The study...
