NewCore Wireless Selects Wireless Broadband Solution From Alcatel-Lucent to Support Wireless Voice and Multimedia Services

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced that Minnesota-based NewCore Wireless, a wholesale provider of wireless communications services, selected Alcatel-Lucent to deploy a 3G Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) network to offer its customers -- other mobile service providers that primarily serve people in rural areas -- sophisticated next-generation services such as advanced multimedia, high-speed mobile broadband, video sharing and mobile Internet access.
