Restoring perfusion completely after MI indicates a better clinical outcome

Complete restoration of perfusion as measured by three combined values was indicative of better clinical outcome of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

"The restoration of epicardial and myocardial flow remains the primary goal of reperfusion therapy in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, but the optimal method to assess this goal has not been defined," scientists writing in the American Journal of Cardiology report.
