Recent studies from Italy and India add new data to genetics research

Investigators in Italy and India have published new genetics data. Study 1: A new susceptibility locus for hypertension has been identified on chromosome 8q by efficient pedigree-breaking in an Italian isolate. Researchers working in Italy report, "Essential hypertension (EH) affects a large proportion of the adult population in Western countries and is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.
