Alaska insurance company may be allowed to convert to public company

Alaska Director of Insurance Linda Hall issued an order that could allow Premera Blue Cross to convert to a public company if the company meets certain conditions.

While the order disapproves the conversion application in its current form, the director of the Alaska Division of Insurance noted that significant benefits could result from the conversion and identified conditions that could result in approval of the application.
