Researchers describe findings in cardiology studies

Cardiology research advances have been reported from Italy, Taiwan and Germany.

Study 1: Hypoxia/reoxygenation alters essential fatty acids metabolism in cultured rat cardiomyocytes.

According to scientists writing in the journal Nutrition Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases, "Peroxidation of membrane lipids, altering cell integrity and function, plays an important part in the onset and development of cardiac damage following ischemia and reperfusion.
