March 22nd, 2005

Variable-number tandem repeats are an appropriate evolutionary marker for studying bacterial transmission events.

According to recent research from England, "Variable-number tandem repeats (VNTRs) have been shown to be a powerful tool in the determination of evolutionary relationships and population genetics of bacteria.
