Ophthalmology firm announces effectiveness of registration statement for notes due in 2025

Advanced Medical Optics, Inc., (AMO, EYE) announced that its registration statement on Form S-3 relating to resales by security holders of the company's issued and outstanding 1.375% convertible senior subordinated notes due 2025, and the shares of its common stock issuable upon conversion of the notes, was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration statement was filed on behalf of the selling security holders, and AMO will not receive any proceeds from the resale of the Notes or the underlying common stock.
