Reports from Hope Hospital add new data to research in diabetes risk factors

New research, "Assessing the prevalence, monitoring and management of chronic kidney disease in patients with diabetes compared with those without diabetes in general practice," is the subject of a report. In this recent report published in the journal Diabetic Medicine, researchers in Salford, the United Kingdom conducted a study "To compare rates of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in patients with diabetes and management of risk factors compared with people without diabetes using general practice computer records, and to assess the utility of serum creatinine and albuminuria as markers of impaired renal function.
