Progress reported on Cellegesic phase III trial

Cellegy Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (CLGY) announced that it has made considerable progress with a new 150-patient phase III clinical trial with Cellegesic (nitroglycerin ointment) for the treatment of pain associated with chronic anal fissures. There are currently no U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drug therapies for this condition, which afflicts approximately 700,000 people in the United States. This new study is intended to confirm the statistically significant pain reduction seen in the previous two phase III studies.
