Analysis gives positive report on Nigerian president in fight against AIDS

An independent analysis by Global AIDS Alliance shows that Nigeria, under the leadership of president Olusegun Obasanjo, is making a significant contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

"He has taken full advantage of his visibility on the world's stage to challenge other African leaders to step up their own efforts in this arena," says Dr. Paul Zeitz, executive director of Global AIDS Alliance. "Just as importantly, he has backed up the rhetoric with real policies, real funding and real accountability."
