Animal research points to new direction for AD therapy

Alzheimer disease may be caused by a problem transporting a certain protein across the blood-brain barrier and out of the brain, according to new St. Louis University research. The findings are important, said William A. Banks, MD, a St. Louis University professor and the lead author of the article, because they give us a new approach for treating Alzheimer disease.
