Enrollment in Cellegesic phase III trial passes two-thirds mark

Cellegy Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (CLGY) announced that it has enrolled over 100 of the targeted 150 patients needed to complete its phase III clinical trial with Cellegesic (nitroglycerin ointment) for the treatment of pain associated with chronic anal fissures. The trial, which began in June of this year, is being conducted under a "Special Protocol Assessment" which is intended to provide assurance that, if pre-specified trial results are achieved, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will approve the New Drug Application (NDA).
