Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy



Uroflux successfully completes phase II clinical study

IVAX Corp. (IVX) reported that Uroflux, a new drug created by IVAX scientists at its Drug Research Institute in Budapest, Hungary, successfully completed a phase II clinical trial for Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BHP).

BHP is a condition, common in men over 50, in which the prostate enlarges and causes symptoms such as frequent and difficult urination.

Uroflux was well-tolerated by the patients enrolled in the study and did not induce cardiovascular or central nervous system adverse events normally associated with drugs currently marketed for this indication.

IVAX expects to continue the phase II clinical development of Uroflux...
