Uroflux successfully completes phase II clinical study

IVAX Corp. (IVX) reported that Uroflux, a new drug created by IVAX scientists at its Drug Research Institute in Budapest, Hungary, successfully completed a phase II clinical trial for Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BHP). BHP is a condition, common in men over 50, in which the prostate enlarges and causes symptoms such as frequent and difficult urination. Uroflux was well-tolerated by the patients enrolled in the study and did not induce cardiovascular or central nervous system adverse events normally associated with drugs currently marketed for this indication.
