Bonutti Technologies has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market an absorbable PLLA anchor for its TranSet Fracture Fixation System. TranSet, first cleared for marketing in 1999, is a novel fracture fixation system that employs suture and anchors to set bones and tissue. Anchors are applied to the outer bone cortex with suture running across the fracture, providing stabilization and linear fixation of the bone or tissue fragments.
