Disciplinary Action

South Dakota Board releases list of disciplined doctors

Following are the disciplinary actions filed against doctors by the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners in 2003, according to records obtained by the Sioux Falls Argus Leader:

* James Melvin Anderson, M.D., Official reprimand issued. He was placed on probation for 5 years with requirements including entering treatment in an outpatient treatment center, submitting to drug screening and abstaining from use of alcohol or other controlled or mood-altering substances.

* Marden Lee Brown, M.D., License forfeited; board records cited unprofessional conduct and accepted voluntary surrender of license.
