Investigators in the United States and Spain have published new breast cancer data. Study 1: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma agonists might promote apoptosis in breast cancer cells. "Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a promising cancer therapy that preferentially induces apoptosis in cancer cells. However, many neoplasms are resistant to TRAIL by mechanisms that are poorly understood.
