Reports advance knowledge in angiology research

Reports from the People's Republic of China and United States highlight recent research on angiology.

Study 1: Laser made channels and progenitor cells spawn new vessels in ischemic limbs.

According to recent research from the Peoples Republic of China, "the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of transmuscle laser revascularization (TMR) in combination with endothelial progenitor cell grafting on neovascularization of ischemic hindlimbs of nude rats. Mononuclear cells (MNCs) isolated from human umbilical cord blood (HUCB) by density gradient centrifugation were expanded in vitro."
