Use of NSAIDs carries risk of adverse reactions in children

The use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in children carries a significant risk of adverse drug events. The use of NSAIDs in children "has rapidly escalated over the last 5 years in Australia," pharmacologists there noted. "This is primarily as a result of the availability of ibuprofen as an over-the-counter preparation."
