New findings from India describe advances in antioxidants. Study 1: Alpha-lipoic acid treatment reduces arsenic-induced oxidative stress in a rat model. According to recent research from India, "impaired antioxidant defense mechanisms and oxidative stress are implicated in the pathogenesis of arsenic toxicity." S.
