Reports add new data to cardiovascular disease research

Data on cardiovascular disease are outlined in reports from the United States, Italy and Japan.

Study 1: Nocturnal hemodialysis is associated with restoration of impaired endothelial progenitor cell biology in end-stage renal disease.

Researchers in Canada report, "Cardiovascular disease is the principal cause of death in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) play a critical role in vascular repair, and improving EPC biology represents a novel therapeutic target."
