GE Healthcare introduces new orthopedic trauma application for company's mobile surgical system

GE Healthcare announced the launch of the company's new orthopedic trauma application designed to improve the standard of care for more than 300,000 men and women who will need surgery to treat hip, pelvic and femur fractures this year.

The new trauma application helps orthopedic surgeons accelerate intraoperative decision-making, reduce dose, and enhance accuracy during percutaneous orthopedic trauma procedures using ElectroMagnetic surgical navigation - a technology that allows surgeons to track their surgical instruments as a virtual tool image superimposed over fluoroscopic images.
