New findings from Brazil, the United States and Turkey describe advances in obesity.

Study 1: Obesity and surgery risk significantly increased the risk for surgical site infection in digestive surgery patients.

According to recent research from Brazil, "Some problems have been reported with the power of the National Nosocomial Infection Surveillance (NNIS) risk index to predict the risk of surgical site infections (SSI) for specific procedures."
