Applied Biosystems Reports Fiscal 2008 First Quarter Results

Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE: ABI), an Applera Corporation business, reported net revenues of $501.2 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2008, an increase of approximately 5% over the prior year quarter revenues of $476.3 million. The net effect of foreign currency on net revenues was a favorable impact of approximately 2% compared to the prior year quarter.

For the first quarter of fiscal 2008, the Group reported net income of $60.9 million, or $0.32 per share, compared to a net loss of $58.7 million, or $0.32 per share, for the prior year quarter.
