Net revenue in the fourth quarter rose 13.5% over the same period last year to $167.0 million, reflecting solid sales gains in the company's ophthalmic surgical and eye care businesses and favorable foreign currency exchange rates. On a pro forma basis, net income for the fourth quarter of 2003 was $10.4 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, compared to $9.5 million, or $0.33 per diluted share in the year-ago quarter.
