Phenotypic aspects regulated in nontransformed intestinal epithelial cells

According to recent research from the United States published in the journal Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, RS5444, a novel peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-gamma agonist, regulates aspects of the differentiated phenotype in nontransformed intestinal epithelial cells.

"PPAR gamma is expressed in the intestinal epithelium, yet little is known about the physiological role of PPAR gamma in the small bowel or the effects of PPAR gamma on small intestinal epithelial cells.
