Smith announces a May 12, 2008, deadline to move to be a lead plaintiff in the securities class action lawsuit filed on behalf of all persons who purchased the publicly traded securities of Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. ("Vertex" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:VRTX) between June 12, 2007 and November 2, 2007, inclusive (the "Class Period"). The shareholder lawsuit is pending in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
