Texas town saves on healthcare spending with incentive program, reduces premiums

Although healthcare spending for organizations across the U.S. has suffered double-digit growth for the past 5 years, including an 11.2% surge in 2004, the city of Coppell, Texas, announced that it has saved enough money in claims over the last year to pass along a 5% reduction in premiums for dependent coverage.

It is reflective of their employees becoming more physically active and getting smarter about their health. For the past year, the Coppell has partnered with WinningHabits to design and implement the "Living Well in Coppell" motivational wellness program.
