Texas town saves on healthcare spending with incentive program, reduces premiums

Although healthcare spending for organizations across the U.S. has suffered double-digit growth for the past 5 years, including an 11.2% surge in 2004, the city of Coppell, Texas, announced that it has saved enough money in claims over the last year to pass along a 5% reduction in premiums for dependent coverage. It is reflective of their employees becoming more physically active and getting smarter about their health.
