Abortion clinic says it will not require parental consent

A Tulsa, Oklahoma, abortion provider says it will continue providing abortions to minors without parental consent despite an appeals court ruling that says state officials may be responsible for the cost of a minor's future medical care.

The law, which was ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge in Tulsa 2 years ago, makes abortion providers liable for medical costs resulting from abortions performed on minors without parental knowledge or consent.

The state appealed that ruling, and the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals vacated the lower court's ruling on November 3, 2004.
